Loading... Please wait...The Carcassonne basic game and five expansions all in one great value box!
This new 2010 Big Box contains the base game, plus the most popular of the expansions:
- Inns & Cathedrals
- Traders and Builders
- Princess & Dragon
- Abbey & Mayor
- Bridges, Castles & Bazaars.
The box is designed to hold the tiles for each in a separate compartment. Also the tiles are marked to show which expansion they belong to. The expansions may be combined in many ways to add fun and interest to your games. To make sure you know how to play with the combined expansions, explanations are included of how they work together.
Carcassonne
The players develop the area around Carcassonne by placing land tiles. Each turn the area becomes larger as the players expand and add roads, fields, cities and cloisters. The players may also deploy their followers as thieves, farmers, knights and monks to control and score points. The wise player will plan his moves carefully and deploy followers when and where he can earn the most points.
Inns and Cathedrals
The Cathedral triples the value of a city, and the Inn doubles the value of a road, but only when they are completed.
Players may use the new large follower to double their chances of controlling a city, road or field.
Traders and Builders
Traders can earn players extra points and builders enable players to place extra tiles, allowing the cities and roads to grow faster. A pig, properly placed, can enrich the value of a farm.
Princess and Dragon
The land around Carcassonne is being visited by a dragon, making life very difficult for the followers. Brave heroes venture forth to face the danger, but without the aid of the fairies, their chances are not good. In the city, the princess seeks help from the knights, and farmers build secret passages to move about undetected by the dragon.
The Abbey & Mayor
Travelling merchants move their goods to surrounding cities and monasteries. The cities in the surrounding countryside can increase to a size large enough to elect their own mayors. Simple farmers build large and wealthy farms and the church tries to strengthen its influence by establishing abbeys.
Bridges, Castles & Bazaars
Pedlars travel into the country in order to set up bazaars where haggling as an art is performed. At the same time, engineers can build bridges to encourage road construction.
Please note that the Big Box 3 does not contain the River expansion that has been included with the base game. This does not affect the game or the other expansions.
