A building game with an Arabian flavour, the premise is simple; collect money in four currencies until you can afford to pay the best artisans from a country to expand your palace by building a tower or garden etc. However considerable planning is necessary as mistakes are very costly and the artisans you employ will diddle you if you let them.
Great fun and like so many of the best games, is easy to learn and hard to master. Fully deserving of Game of the Year 2003 and an absolute must for collectors and families alike.
Contents: 6 starting tiles, 54 building tiles, 1 building market, 12 counters, 108 money cards in 4 currencies, 1 scoring board, 2 scoring cards, 6 tile reserve boards, 1 bag, 1 set of rules

I found this game very enjoyable and quite competitive, even with new players. The game is best with 3+ players and is quite easy to teach those new to the game. Alhambra relies on not only luck but tactics as well as you have to make sure you're getting the right cards in order to try and pay exact change for a building and therefore gain a bonus action.
