Between the famous Egyptian city of Alexandria and rich and powerful Carthage you are merchants buying and shipping goods. But you timing must be just right - while your wheat, wine, fabrics and jewels usually find buyers, your ships also risk raids form ruthless pirates. Buy and sell wisely and store your goods properly and you may become one of the wealthiest merchants of the Mediterranean.
Players buy goods or grab coins in the market while cards in the farm replenish the market. When goods are bought, ships move toward Carthage. When a ship reaches Carthage, payday occurs, where the merchandise is sold. Any ships on pirate spaces get raided and you must produce cards with storage icons to try and save your merchandise.
Achievement tokens increase the value of your merchandise and when someone has collected 8 or more of these tokens, the game is over.
