Cowboys is a game of Old West gun fights, some fact, some fiction. Bank robberies, lynch mobs, cattle rustling, jail breaks and many other western actions are depicted. It pits opposing sides against each other, bringing to life the daring and dastardly deeds of heores and villains when the way of the gun ruled the day. Included are the lawmen, gunfighters, gamblers, and ne'er do wells who knew how t handle themselves during a gunfight.
Gunfights in Cowboys are affected by the skills of the cowboys and the players. It also uses cards to show luck (good and bad), daring and bravery (or lack of it). A well-played hand can leave you walking from the table with a smile and your opponent in a bad fix. The epic gunfights of Wyatt Earp, "Wild Bill Hickock, Jesse James, Doc Holliday, Billy the Kid, The Daltons and many others are included. Some of the variables are town folk, horses, weapons, card play, etc.
The game features stand-up Cowboy counters with plastic bases. The box, boards, and all components feature full colour artwork by Gary S. Zaboly. 26 historical and Hollywood style scenarios are included and depict gun fights, bank robberies, lynch mobs, cattle rustling, jail breaks and many other western actions. Six double-sided geomorphic map-boards are used to create the look of the Old West.
